July 19, 2023 – XL Specialized Trailers is introducing new options for the XL Guardian 110 Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck (HDG) trailer, a standardized construction trailer.
Available this summer, the two new options include 18” loaded deck height and 60” axle spacing.
“These new options are engineered with the same level of innovation and industry-leading performance as our highly popular and reliable Guardian trailer,” said Tom Hiatt, director of sales at XL.
Buyers can now choose between a 22” loaded deck height or the new 18” loaded deck height. Operators can adjust the height of the deck for diverse loads with a five-position variable ride height in the neck and manual ride height in the rear.
“We set out to create an option focused on lower deck heights, which are essential especially in the northeastern U.S. where bridges tend to be lower,” said Hiatt.
The new 60” axle spacing option will be available on both the 18” and 22” deck-height trailers. When this option is selected, the main deck will shift to 25’ to keep the 53’ overall length.
XL Specialized expects the 60” option to be popular in the western U.S. and Canada to accommodate regional axle laws.
In addition to the new options for the XL Guardian trailer, each aspect of this low-profile HDG lowboy was designed to simplify hauling construction equipment.
Built to last, the Guardian trailer is 53’ long and has a rated capacity of 110,000 lbs. in 12’, concentrated.
The low-profile gooseneck saves weight while adding versatility.
It features a relief cutout, giving truck fenders plenty of clearance, and two removable kingpin settings, which add flexibility for truck setups.
Hydraulics let the gooseneck detach easily for efficient loading and unloading, then easily reconnect after.
A rotating work light on the neck illuminates the area for added safety and visibility when loading.
In the rear of the main deck, recessed cross members form a bucket well.
Combined with the open boom trough in the wheel area, this design enables transporting excavators low and safe.
D-rings throughout the rear of the deck make securement is easier and more efficient.
The Guardian trailer is backed with XL’s five-year structural, three-year paint, and one-year parts warranties.
The trailers are available from dealers across the U.S., and the new options will be available this summer.
