For those in the building industry, there is (almost) no better time of the year than January when tens of thousands of like-minded people gather in Las Vegas, Nevada, to celebrate everything construction at the World of Concrete (WOC).
For starters, there’s the not-to-be missed SpecMix 500, a competition that pits the best of the best masons against one another for a chance to win more than $125,000 in cash and prizes, including a brand-new truck.
In 2024, Michael Schlund returned to defend his title from his 2023 win (and did) against the likes of Fred Campbell, the elder statesman who has won this contest the most and has been equated to the Tom Brady of masonry.
One year ago, WOC celebrated its 50th Anniversary with 60,000 of its closest friends, who trafficked the 700,000 square foot arena, alongside 120 masons from different countries, simply to see just what new and exciting things the 1,500 exhibiting companies had to offer industry participants.
Exhibitors at the event will highlight equipment (and trends) shaping the future of the crane industry.
Among the features not-to-be-missed for 2025, attendees can look forward to educational sessions that will offer insights into how these machines streamline operations on construction sites, but also how to train employees to be safe around them.
“World of Concrete is a great chance for us to connect with concrete contractors and show how Magni telescopic handlers can make their jobs safer, easier and more productive,” Matt Roskie, director of marketing for Magni America said.
“Our equipment is built to handle the tough demands of the industry while helping contractors work smarter and get more done. We encourage attendees to stop by our booth C6761 to see our telehandlers up close and discover what sets Magni apart,” he added.
Technological advancements have reshaped the concrete and construction industries, with cranes playing a pivotal role in enhancing efficiency and safety.
“Fascan International introduced the Fassi brand of cranes to the concrete industry in 1997. Driving the forefront in crane technology, Fassi offers the finest in design, construction and safety standards. Following that Fassi lead, our exemplary dealers along with our unmatched support have set the standard for the industry to follow,” Bernie Faloney, CEO of Fascan International said.
Liebherr USA will spotlight its innovative solutions and said it is looking forward to fostering connections with industry professionals, underscoring its dedication to driving progress in construction by exhibiting at WOC.
“Liebherr USA’s involvement highlights its continuous dedication to advancing the concrete industry. Our booth staff eagerly anticipates meeting customers and [helping them achieve] their future goals.”
“We look forward to showcasing our cutting-edge 38 XXT pump, which offers enhanced performance and top-tier operational support solutions, including powerbloc and the XXA stability support system,” Guilherme Zurita, director of Concrete Technology said.
This event promises to be just as spectacular as its last with various demonstrations and its most popular technical seminars, industry certifications, interactive workshops and training courses and forums.
They include:
In addition, there will be more than 20 new session topics.
It is one of the industry’s only annual international conferences dedicated to the commercial concrete and masonry construction industries.
The exhibit hall hours will be open from Tuesday, Jan. 21, to Thursday, Jan. 23, 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
It’s safe to say that WOC is the place to see and be seen if you’re in the construction and crane industries.
