William Hackett, a supplier of lifting, rigging and chain solutions, has acquired Forge Lifting Gear, a West Midlands-based manufacturer specializing in custom bolts, shackles and forgings.
The acquisition enhances William Hackett’s ability to provide bespoke products for industries including energy, construction, mining, agriculture and utilities.
Forge Lifting Gear, known for its prototyping and production capabilities, has supplied non-standard lifting equipment for more than two decades.
The acquisition strengthens William Hackett’s customer offering by integrating advanced manufacturing processes, including bending, boring, chamfering, drilling, folding, milling and hot forging. The company also provides surface treatments such as galvanizing, sherardizing, zinc plating and powder coating.
“Forge Lifting Gear is a great addition to our group. It complements our existing operations, bringing us capabilities that truly enhance our customer offering,” Ian Kelly, operations director of William Hackett Chain Products said.
“Our customers are often up against tight deadlines, requiring non-standard products very quickly,” Kelly added.
“We can now provide them with a full end-to-end solution, from assisting during the design process to providing a one-off product or small batch run.”
In addition to acquiring Forge Lifting Gear, William Hackett has also purchased B&S Chains, a specialist in playground equipment. Both businesses have relocated to the company’s Cradley Heath facility, ensuring continuity manufacturing in the West Midlands.
