Van Beest Green Pin ROV Shackle Named Award Finalist

May 28, 2014 - The Green Pin ROV shackle from Van Beest was recently named a finalist at the Woelfel Best Mechanical Engineering Achievement Awards, which is an initiative of the ASME Petroleum Division. The awards are held every year at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas. It recognizes a product, device, or system that best reflects innovation and/or practical use of mechanical engineering in solving problems, improving design, or maximizing performance.

 

The Green Pin ROV shackles have a specially designed quick release that can be manipulated easily by an ROV’s hydraulically operated arm, without compromising safety. Developed specifically for sub-sea applications, these products overcome the limitations of solutions based on standard products. They can significantly reduce the time taken to disassemble shackles underwater.
