United Rentals Completes Consent Solicitations

September 20, 2005 — United Rentals, Inc., Greenwich, Conn., announced the successful completion of its previously announced consent solicitations from bondholders today. As of 5 p.m. eastern time on Sept. 19, 2005, the required majority of holders of each issue of the outstanding bonds and QUIPs securities had consented to the amendments and waivers that the company was seeking pursuant to the consent solicitations.
