United Rentals Announces Management Appointments
February 20, 2006 — United Rentals, Inc., Greenwich, Conn., recently appointed James Milde senior vice president and chief information officer and Todd Helvie vice president - tax and business development.
Milde will be responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of the company's corporate and branch information technology operations. With more than 20 years of senior management experience leading technology organizations and business operations, he has accomplished complex global initiatives, most recently at Sony Electronics, Inc. as senior general manager, chief information officer, and at the Pepsi Bottling Group as senior vice president, chief information officer. Helvie will be responsible for United Rentals' corporate taxation and strategic acquisitions and divestitures. He has more than 13 years of senior management and legal experience, including directing treasury, risk, tax and acquisition functions for domestic and international corporations. He most recently served as senior vice president and treasurer for Delta Air Lines, Inc. Prior to that he was director of taxation for Pepsi-Cola Company, a division of PepsiCo Inc. Previously, he was a tax attorney with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.
