November 17, 2004 • Lexington, Ky.-based Link-Belt Construction Equipment recently introduced the HTC-8650 Series II, an upgraded version of its popular 50-ton telescopic truck crane. While the machine has several new enhancements, the most visible change is the operator's cab, which features a larger operator station with a new sweeping curved front window glass for increased visibility. To meet its customers' and the truck crane market's demand, Link-Belt's CabWalk has become a standard feature, providing easy access to the operator's cab.
The HTC-8650 SII also has beefed up its power with the new Tier-III compliant, 365-hp Caterpillar C-11 engine, which is an increase of 30 horsepower, and it features 1,350 foot-pounds of torque • an increase of 100 foot-pounds over the last model.
This upgraded model will continue to feature removable slab counterweights, front and rear air-ride suspension, and with full counterweight, its GVW still weighs less than 80,000 pounds. The crane is equipped with a 35.5- to 110-foot full power, four-section boom. Maximum tip height is 117.4 feet. Vertical and horizontal reach increases with the optional 28- to 51-foot fly attachment, offsettable to 2, 20, and 40 degrees. Maximum tip height of the boom plus fly attachment is 167 feet.
