Three Scholarships Awarded to Students Seeking Construction Careers

July 7, 2004 - Three scholarships, up from one in 2003, have been awarded to students seeking careers in the construction field. The workforce-development scholarship program is sponsored by ConstructMyFuture.com, a construction careers website organized by the Associated Equipment Distributors Foundation, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, and the Associated General Contractors of America.

The following tuition scholarships were awarded to students accepted into construction management education programs:

  • $1,500 to Toni Haider, an incoming freshman at Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D.
  • $1,000 to Lucas Walloch, an incoming freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wis.
  • $500 to Drake Koger, a second-year student at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.

The ConstructMyFuture.com scholarship is open to students and construction industry professionals and can be used for higher education or can be applied to the purchase price of tools by those already working in the construction industry, improving their ability to learn and perform new workplace skills. Applications for next year's scholarships will be available at www.constructmyfuture.com this fall.
