Terex Cranes adds 1,100-ton capacity CC5800 crawler to its product line.
For maximum performance, the CC5800 offers the Quadro drive to provide massive propulsion and the hydraulic-assisted, boom-section pinning as standard equipment; a folding radial outrigger system to ensure absolute stability when lifting heavy loads. Optional equipment includes operational support via a PC. The main boom can be variably offset between 87° and 45° in SWSL mode and freely adjustable in luffing combinations. The variable Superlift attachment radius can be adjusted from 39 to 69 feet.
To ensure optimum potential and maximum safety, the CC5800 is equipped with a number of features focusing on these attributes. These features include two fully independent DaimlerChrysler OM 501 LA 353-hp engines to guarantee maximum disposition, but it's also capable of operating with a single engine; dual power sources on the Terex-Demag IC-1 control system with two touch screens that display both LMI data and switches and engine data for delivering faultless performance; and comprehensive diagnostic functions and an early warning system on the IC-1 to take early corrective action and eliminate faults.
Another key feature of the CC5800 is its maximum economic savings. According to Terex-Demag, the CC5800 will cut transportation costs with its low transport weight of 55 tons (50 metric tons) and a transport width of just under 10 feet (3 meters). By switching off one engine for light lifts or partial loads, fuel consumption can be decreased. The crane also offers swift assembly and speedy rigging times, and cost-effective 2 x 440-ton modular hook blocks that can be converted into 1 x 496-ton, 2 x 248-ton, or 1 x 248-ton assemblies.
