Terex Adds to Crawler Crane Product Line, Pre-Sells First Machine
January 12, 2006 — Further expanding its crawler crane product line, Terex Cranes, Wilmington, N.C., introduces the 3,500-ton (U.S.) lifting capacity TEREX-Demag CC 8800 TWIN. Based on the 1,375-ton capacity CC 8800 model, the CC 8800 TWIN achieves an increased capacity through its unique Twin Boom System design in which the boom components are interconnected by the system to form a twin boom. The booms are freely mounted onto the crawler carrier for full on-site mobility, allowing for maneuverability while carrying the load.

The CC 8800 TWIN's Quadro drive with self-cleaning drivetrain geometry provides optimum traction force. Short set-up times are achieved by the hydraulically adjustable telescoping system for the counterweight carrier and tray. For economical transport mobility, the transport width is less than 11.5 feet, and the individual components weight less than 44 tons. The crane's modular hook block design allows for assembly of options ranging from 385 to 1,375 tons for each block. Safe operation is enhanced by a camera system, and an on-board AC power generator used for flood lights or air conditioning provides the independence on the jobsite.
