Tandemloc, Inc., a company that manufactures lifting and securing solutions, is celebrating 40 years of business in 2024.
From its humble beginnings in a basement in Suffolk County, New York, to its expansive headquarters in Havelock, North Carolina, Tandemloc has become a trusted name in the industry, known for its quality, safety and innovation.
Founded in 1984 by John DiMartino Sr. and his son, John Jr., Tandemloc initially focused on specialized container applications, including the groundbreaking "Tandemloc Connector."
Over its first decade, the company established a strong reputation for engineering excellence but faced challenges with New York's high costs and regulatory hurdles.
In 1992, the DiMartino family relocated to Havelock, North Carolina, where they secured a 5,000-square-foot facility. This move allowed Tandemloc to expand manufacturing capabilities, eventually consolidating all operations under one roof.
By 2001, the company had undergone three expansions, bringing activities like sandblasting, painting and proof testing indoors, ensuring higher quality and efficiency.
After the passing of founder John DiMartino Sr. in 2008, Tandemloc’s commitment to innovation remained steadfast.
The company expanded its engineering team and diversified its product lines to include Barrier Grabs, Pipe Grabs, Pallet Lifters and Forklift Attachments.
Tandemloc also launched its Rapid Ready Program, allowing customers to customize lift beams or spreader beams with specific lengths, working load limits and pick points.
This initiative enables orders to ship within five to seven business days, addressing customer demand for faster turnaround times.
Over the years, Tandemloc has achieved significant milestones, including earning The Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program safety award for 15 consecutive years and attaining ISO 9001:2015 certification. The company has also introduced electronic lifters, marking a new chapter in innovation.
