Superior Rigging & Erecting Co., a crane, rigging, steel erection and fabrication company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, has acquired Heaton Erecting, Inc. Heaton is a crane rental, rigging and transportation company. The acquisition brings together two companies with rich history that are both operating at their peak.
“I'm honored that Carol [former Heaton Owner/CEO] is trusting us to continue this legacy of what a great company Heaton is, and I don't take that lightly,” Patrick Lewis, CEO of Superior Rigging & Erecting Co., said. “We have two phenomenal brands in the Atlanta market and with us combining the potential of what can be is limitless.”
Heaton’s customer base will see the benefits of Superior’s deep rigging history and gain access to turn-key services such as steel fabrication, millwrighting and more storage space near downtown Atlanta.
The two companies have had a competitive, but friendly relationship in the Atlanta market, but their history together runs deep.
“My dad’s first job out of college was at Superior,” Heaton said, “I can recall being a little kid and our ritual on Saturday morning was: Dad would pick my brother and me up out of bed, throw us in the back of the Superior pickup truck and we'd go ride around and look at jobs. I've really been in this business all my life, and when I look back on that history, I guess you could say it started with Superior.”
Heaton will be under the leadership of Patrick Lewis as Owner/CEO and continue operating under the Heaton Erecting, Inc. name.
