Students of Construction Win Scholarships

December 2, 2005 • ConstructMyFuture.com has named the 2005 winners of its three $1,000 student scholarships supporting construction-focused higher education. The winners include:

 

  • Adam Albright of Carlisle, Pa., a student at Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, Pa., where he is studying heavy construction equipment technology.
  • Ethel Chan of Lawrencville, N.J., a student at New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, N.J., where she is working toward her Bachelor's of Science degree in Construction Engineering Technology.
  • Drew Thelen of Twin Lakes, Wis., who will attend the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wis., where he will study construction management.

The workforce development initiative is the joint effort of three industry associations: Associated Equipment Distributors Foundation, Association of Equipment Manufacturers, and the Associated General Contractors of America. The organization is now accepting applications for the 2006 scholarship awards. Applications can be found at www.constructmyfuture.com. The deadline is February 3, 2006.
