Snorkel Launches New Scissor Lift Facility
November 23, 2006 • Snorkel International,
The facility will be used to assemble Snorkel's scissor lift product line, which includes electric, gas, propane, and diesel powered machines with platform heights ranging from 19 to 40 feet. The new location also will house offices, a shipping and receiving area, and a paint touch-up area.
With the addition of this new production site, which offers more than four times more manufacturing space at the company's home office, Snorkel said its production ability will increase by up to 150% in an eight-hour day. Additionally, the new scissor lift location will offer more space for assembling straight and articulated boom lifts at Snorkel's current manufacturing facility.
“Scissor sales have been very strong, and with new models just around the corner, we needed to increase our production numbers and be prepared for future growth,” said Frank Scarborough, chief operating officer of Snorkel International. “We anticipate continued growth both in our existing models and with the new introductions.”
