SIA Education Foundation Elects New President

March 7, 2006 — The Scaffold Industry Association Education Foundation (SIAEF), Phoenix, recently elected Bill McBrayer of Tractel Griphoist Division to serve as president of the foundation, effective May 1, 2006. McBrayer replaces current president William Ayres, who has served in the position since the foundation's inception in 1989.

“Mr. Ayres has had a significant impact on the growth and success of the foundation over the years, and his guidance has been invaluable”, said John Miller, CEO of The Millstone Corp., who serves as an SIAEF board member.

McBrayer recently joined Tractel Griphoist N.A. as access division manager. After serving with the Army Engineers Corp., he began his career in the scaffolding industry in 1969 with Waco Scaffolding & Equipment. In 1989, after 20 years with Waco, McBrayer moved on to Aggregate/Sunbelt to hold the position of director of scaffold operations. After 12 years with the firm, he took the position of Midwest regional manager of Champion Elevators.

“Mr. McBrayer has been a loyal and active member of the SIA for the past 15 years, and we are excited about the direction planned for the SIA Education Foundation under his leadership,” said Howard Schapira, president of Action Equipment & Scaffold and current president of the Scaffold Industry Association.
