SC&RA Crane & Rigging Workshop Canceled

September 20, 2005 — Given the fact that Tropical Storm Rita was recently upgraded to a hurricane and forecasted to continue on a path toward the Houston/Galveston area later this week, SC&RA has canceled the Crane & Rigging Workshop scheduled for Sept. 22-24 in Houston.

 

This decision, made after consultation with members of the Executive Committee, was reached due to concern for the safety and well-being of everyone planning to attend the Workshop. Having monitored national weather forecasts through this morning, the Association could see no other reasonable course of action because of projections that the hurricane would hit landfall sooner than originally anticipated.

According to Jackie Roskos, director of marketing and membership, the association plans to reschedule the event, but no details are currently available regarding new dates.
