Retrofit Fuel System to Meet California ARB Regulations

February 23, 2005—Precision Governors, LLC, Rockford, Ill., has developed a fuel system to convert uncontrolled (open-loop) industrial engines to low emission closed-loop operation. The company is currently undergoing retrofit verification with the California ARB to validate emissions performance and mechanical system durability. Once completed, the system will be available for aftermarket conversion of numerous base engine configurations, fuel types and displacement ranges.

The fuel system was developed to meet the proposed California ARB regulations that will require current forklift, street sweeper, and airport ground support fleets to comply with stringent fleet average emissions levels, starting in 2009. Although the regulation will not become effective for several years, Precision Governors' new fuel system provides fleet owners with a head start toward meeting the future requirement.
