Rescheduled Crane & Rigging Workshop Exceeds Expectations

December 7, 2005 — The decision to reschedule rather than cancel the SC&RA Crane & Rigging Workshop after Hurricane Rita turned out to be a wise one, based on attendance at this year's conference. Originally scheduled for September 22-24, the workshop was held November 10-12 at the originally selected venue — the Hilton Americas in Houston.

More than 300 people participated in the event, including more than 80 first-timers. All sessions and the tour of Liebherr Crane Inc.'s Houston facility were well attended. It was standing room only at meetings of the Safety, Education and Training Committee and the Governing Committee, and only a few seats remained open at the Labor Committee meeting. Traffic also was brisk at the Exhibit Center's 49 booths.

The next SC&RA Crane & Rigging Workshop will be held September 21-23 at the Sheraton Atlanta in Atlanta.
