Qualcomm Integrates Next-Generation RentalMan in GlobalTRACS

November 21, 2005 — Qualcomm, San Diego, Calif., and Wynne Systems, Irvine, Calif., announced the availability of an enhanced, integrated equipment management solution for industrial and construction equipment rental companies that use Qualcomm's GlobalTRACS equipment management solution and Wynne's RentalMan application suite. The enhanced software further integrates telematics data from the GlobalTRACS solution platform with RentalMan's improved business information capabilities to provide rental companies with a new level of revenue and equipment management.

 

The enhanced software improves the realized value of both the GlobalTRACS platform and the RentalMan application suite for rental companies. A new feature of the RentalMan • exclusive to the GlobalTRACS-integrated version • is a single, more user-friendly critical information screen that highlights the information and equipment that rental counter and maintenance department staff of rental companies need to make informed business decisions, help capture additional revenue, help control maintenance costs, improve the timeliness of preventive maintenance, manage liens, and supervise equipment security. Additionally, the enhanced software dramatically reduces the need for manual data entry and allows rental companies to receive a consistent, near real-time view of their business and assets at every level of their organization.

Further integration of GlobalTRACS data into the RentalMan application means that users can more easily access and use information about equipment hours, operational history, location, maintenance, and administrative data provided by GlobalTRACS. In addition, equipment rental companies can use the data in new and enhanced reporting options in the RentalMan application. Other new or enhanced functionalities of the application include the capacity to help rental companies capture off-rent revenue, provide more accurate and timely overtime billings, and help validate rain day, holiday and downtime credits.
