The Potain MCT 1105 and Grove GMK6300L-1 cranes earned top honors at the 2024 Construction Machinery Middle East Awards . The Potain MCT 1105 tower crane received both "Tower Crane of the Year" and "Crane of the Year" awards, while the Grove GMK6300L-1 all-terrain crane was named "Mobile Crane of the Year."
These cranes, developed with significant customer input, are already popular on construction sites across the Middle East, from Turkey to Saudi Arabia and North Africa.
“These awards underscore the daily dedication of our teams at our Wilhelmshaven, Germany, and Zhangjiagang, China, factories, and also of our fantastic Middle East team,” Andrew Youssef, general manager for Manitowoc in the Middle East, Africa and CIS, said. “Customer input was key in developing the MCT 1105 and the GMK6300L-1. These are top-of-the-line machines that are already making a huge impact on important construction projects in the Middle East and many other regions of the world.”
NFT Group CEO Nabil Al Zahlawi joined Manitowoc staff to receive the awards. NFT, the world's largest owner of Potain cranes, played a crucial role in the development of the Potain MCT 1105. Their collaboration with Manitowoc, particularly through the Voice of the Customer process, has been instrumental in ensuring continuous improvement in products and services.
Manufactured at Manitowoc’s Zhangjiagang, China, factory, the MCT 1105 is Potain’s largest topless crane, featuring a maximum freestanding height under hook of 69.7 meters, a maximum capacity of 50 tons, and a maximum working radius of 80 meters. The GMK6300L-1, with a 300-ton capacity, is known for its remarkable strength and stability, capable of lifting 14 tons at the full extension of its 80-meter MEGAFORM main boom.
The recognition of these cranes at the Construction Machinery Middle East Awards highlights their significant impact and popularity in the region's construction industry.
