New Brand and Model Names for UpRight

New brand name for UpRight International

February 2, 2005—UpRight International is in the process of integrating its new brand name and nomenclature throughout the company's product line. Products are now marketed under the Ui brand name.

Changes to the nomenclature include additional specification information. For example, the former AB46 articulating boom lift is now the Ui4625 K-boom, identifying both the 46-foot platform height and 25-foot horizontal outreach. Similar changes have been made to the model names for straight boom lifts. Scissor lift nomenclature now identifies machine width in addition to platform height. For example, the former SL26 is now the Ui2684 X-Lift (26-foot platform height, 84 inch machine width).

Equipment available to the U.S. market is produced at the company's manufacturing facility in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, and distributed by Ui Distribution North America Inc., in Fresno, Calif. Small electric scissor lifts began shipping from the Mexican facility last September. Production of boom lifts and vertical mast lifts has begun more recently, and a company spokesperson says, “We are currently beginning to ramp up production of RT scissor lifts.”

Look for Ui this month at The Rental Show, and in March at ConExpo, both to be held in Las Vegas, Nev., where the Ui12 M-Lift and Ui26J M-Boom (self-propelled vertical mast units), the Ui25 V-Lift, and GL Ground Leveler models will be among those on display. The Ui12 M-Lift (former TM12) and GL S-Lifts (former Speed Level) have been remodeled with new and improved features.

Ui Distribution North America also offers parts and technical support for aerial work platforms under the PartsRight brand. Leading sales and business development at Ui Distribution North America is Rob Hime, senior vice president. The company can be reached at 559-443-6600 or via e-mail at info@uidistribution.com.
