New Branch Manager at Essex Crane's California Service Center

November 21, 2005 — Essex Crane Rental Corp, Buffalo Grove, Ill., has appointed James D. Chalmers to branch manager of the California Service Center in Fontana, Calif. At the California Service Center, Chalmers will assume full responsibility for customer service and support throughout the entire Essex Crane west coast territory, including Essex's Longmont, Colo., and Rochester, Wash., equipment yards.

Jim Chalmers is an industry veteran with more than 36 years of equipment management experience, and he has worked on some of the largest heavy civil engineering projects in the world. Jim most recently served as equipment superintendent for Modern Continental's California operations, and his career includes equipment management positions with Tutor-Saliba, Morrison Knudson, Peter Kiewit & Sons, Guy F. Atkinson, and Dillingham Construction.

Bill Erwin, Essex Crane's vice president of customer support and operations said he is pleased to add Jim Chalmers to the company's operations and customer support team. “His 36 years as an equipment superintendent will add a unique perspective towards supplying our customers with the finest crawler crane equipment and best possible service support,” Erwin said.
