NationsRent donated a wide array of heavy equipment, including telehandlers, for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition recently in East Bernard, Texas.
February 22, 2006 • After years of double medical bills and travel expenses, the Kubena family, who we meet in a recent episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, could not afford to add on space to their tiny trailer to accommodate their sick daughter's needs. Thanks to the generosity of the Extreme Team, however, this family received a brand new home.

Within a six-month period in 2001, two-year-old Tara and her identical twin sister Sara were diagnosed with the same form of leukemia. While Sara's condition went into remission after undergoing several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, Tara suddenly relapsed. For Tara to get better, she had to be isolated from her siblings to avoid germs. However, the Kubenas lived in a cramped trailer where Tara shared a room with Sara and their older sister, Kelley.

For this build, NationsRent, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., coordinated with Royce Builders of Houston to deliver the equipment needed to make the Kubena's dream home possible. Equipment included air compressors, telescopic forklifts, skidsteers, Gators, mini excavators, heaters, fans, rollers, cut-off saws, dozers, scissor lifts, mortar mixers, and generators. The NationsRent team even supplied on-site equipment experts to make sure everything ran smoothly for the crew.
