NationsRent Announces Personnel Appointments

March 29, 2006 • NationsRent Companies, Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., recently named three new executives to key posts in the company.

 

Gregg S. Sigman was named regional vice president, Florida Region. His area of responsibility includes four districts comprised of the company's operations throughout Florida. Sigman joined NationsRent in July 1998 and has served in various roles of increasing responsibility, including merger and acquisition analyst, director of finance, and most recently regional business manager for the Florida Region. Prior to joining NationsRent, Sigman spent several years at Price Waterhouse as a senior accountant. He also served in the Business Development Department at Cordis, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. Sigman received his bachelor of science, accounting and master of science, accounting from the University of Florida.

 

Catherine A. Whitney will be the new vice president of risk management and safety. Whitney joined NationsRent in March 2004 with more than 20 years of experience in managing and directing all areas of risk management. Previously, she worked with Hollywood Casino Corporation in Dallas as corporate vice president, responsible for risk management and human resources. Among her previous risk management roles, Whitney served as risk manager of the Trump Organization of Atlantic City, N.J. Whitney is a Certified Property and Casualty Underwriter and has her ARM, Associate in Risk Management designation from the Insurance Institute of America. She earned her undergraduate degree from Stockton State College with a bachelor's in psychology.

 

Fernando Pinera was named the new vice president of fleet and asset management. In his new role, Pinera will be responsible for all aspects of fleet strategy as well as all related purchasing and asset management functions. Since joining NationsRent in 1998, Pinera has held positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as regional vice president, Florida Region. His broad background includes experience in almost every aspect of the equipment rental business, including fleet management, field operations, systems, accounting, equipment maintenance and service, and counter operations. Pinera has more than 15 years of experience in the equipment rental industry and was part of the management team that developed the Neff Rental Company. Pinera holds a bachelor of science, accounting from Florida International University.
