MCAA latest to join OSHA Alliance Program
March 17, 2004 -The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA), Schaumburg , Ill. , recently signed an Alliance agreement with OSHA. The Alliance will focus on identifying forklift hazards and reducing and preventing injuries associated with fall protection, scaffolding, and wall bracing. MCAA will assist OSHA in identifying safety and health issues specific to its industry.
The Alliance also calls for participants to work with other participating organizations on specific issues, such as forklift safety. In January, the Industrial Truck Association also became an Alliance Program member, with its emphasis being on industrial lift truck safety.
The Alliance Program enables organizations committed to workplace safety and health to collaborate with OSHA to prevent injuries and illnesses in the workplace. Currently, more than 50 organizations participate on the national level in the program.
