leadership in marketing new and used cranes, support equipment, and services to buyers in heavy construction, highway and bridge construction, general construction, and specialty trades. The editorial staff of Lift and Access, which provides in-depth coverage of products, technologies, and trends for lifting equipment professionals, brings more than 50 years of combined and varied experiences in the lifting industry.
“This is a unique and highly advantageous opportunity for both parties," said Heartland's President and CEO Gale McKinney II. "We believe their respective strengths are a perfect complement.”
With a combined database approaching 100,000 owners and operators of cranes and lifting equipment, the marriage of Crane Hot Line and Lift and Access represents a significant presence in the lifting equipment industry, said Guy Ramsey, president and publisher of Maximum Capacity Media.
Ramsey has nearly 30 years of experience in all phases of the lifting equipment business. His combined operational, editorial, and publishing experiences give him a unique understanding of the issues that face our industry. “We want to be a resource for the industry we have all served for so many years, and this new venture gives us the ability to leverage our combined strengths,” he said.
Overseeing database management, sales, customer service and production is Scott Drzycimski, director of group operations. Scott has been with Heartland Communications for more than seven years, most recently as publisher of Crane Hot Line. Prior to coming to Heartland, he held the position of business manager of Newco Parts, Inc., a remanufacturer of TS-14 scrapers and aftermarket replacement parts.
In the months ahead, Crane Hot Line readers will begin to see expanded editorial coverage of cranes and rigging products, job applications, and safety and regulation issues. Leading this effort is Tracy Bennett, who has been named editorial director of Crane Hot Line.
“With 13 years experience covering crane, rigging and lifting equipment markets, Tracy has a keen understanding of this market niche and brings a high level of editorial expertise and visibility to Crane Hot Line,” said Ramsey.
Lift and Access will continue to expand its presence under the leadership of Katie Parrish. Excited about having the additional resources, she looks forward to providing more targeted editorial coverage to this expanded pool of readers under the new arrangement.
With the joining of Crane Hot Line and Lift and Access, more than 17,000 crane owners will be added to the electronic database for 360, more than doubling its current distribution. Together www.liftandaccess.com and www.cranehotline.com boast 40,000 unique visits per month Ellen Parson will oversee both websites and remains the editor of 360, which will now include additional crane and rigging articles.
