Martina Moritsch to Step Down from Terex Tower Cranes

April 2, 2014 - After 28 years in the tower crane business, Martina Moritsch announces she will step down as vice president and managing director of Terex Tower Cranes on June 1, 2014. Marco Gentilini, current vice president of business integration at Terex Cranes, has been named as her replacement.

Moritsch is part of the family that founded the Comedil brand more than 50 years ago. “It was an extremely difficult decision to leave a company that has been such a big part of my family and my life,” she says. “However, with the tower crane market in recovery, I believe the time is right for me to step down so a seamless transition in leadership can be made to ensure the continued success of Terex Tower Cranes.”

In addition to replacing Moritsch, Gentilini will continue to lead crane integration and broaden his current role to include global leadership of the tower-crane business.

“In recent months, Terex Cranes has successfully introduced our new regional structure to become easier to do business with and show one face to the customer,” said Tim Ford, president of Terex Cranes. “Marco is the right person at the right time to lead the global tower crane business, evaluate how to drive further integration between our tower and mobile crane business, and develop the appropriate integration strategy.”

For 13 years, Gentilini has served Terex Cranes in a variety of capacities, including leading the Crespellano, Italy, and Waverly, Iowa, operations. Moritsch and Gentilini will work collaboratively for two months to ensure a smooth transition of leadership.
