Manitowoc has opened a new service facility in Barnsley, UK, to enhance its customer support and meet the growing demand in the region. The 2,750-square-meter facility will serve customers in northern England, Wales and Scotland, offering parts, maintenance and crane services.
“We’re continuing to expand our support in the UK, so it makes sense to invest in this new facility to bring us closer to customers and other crane rental companies in the area. Over the past two years, we’ve hired highly skilled technicians to continue delivering the best support in the UK. Manitowoc is growing its aftermarket support worldwide, and this ongoing expansion will give customers more opportunities to maximize the value of their Grove and Potain cranes,” Pier Domenico Ravera, General Manager for Manitowoc in the UK and Vice President for mobile crane sales in Western Europe, said.
The Barnsley depot will focus on mobile crane parts and service, as well as Potain tower crane rental inquiries. It will complement Manitowoc's existing Buckingham facility, which will continue serving central and southern UK regions. This expansion aligns with Manitowoc's global growth strategy, allowing customers to maximize the value of their Grove and Potain cranes.
“Our investment in Barnsley is easily scalable, so we can increase resources as required. We’re fully committed to providing the best aftermarket care to customers and look forward to sharing in their ongoing success,” Pier Domenico Ravera, said.
