RSC Equipment Rental launches new website.

April 6, 2005 • RSC Equipment Rental, Scottsdale, Ariz., announced the launch of its new website, RSCrental.com, which is designed to expedite the rental process and provide time-saving efficiency and convenience for its users. More than just access to customer service and account information, RSC Online™, a proprietary application, allows customers to view their account history in real time, reserve equipment for rent, call equipment off-rent, search for sale items, and customize reports.

Candice Roberts is Procurement Manager for Staley, Inc., an electrical contracting company in Little Rock, Ark. Staley is responsible for large electrical projects in 30 states, which demands an ever-changing array of rental equipment. Since being introduced to RSC Online, Roberts says that managing the fleet has become much easier and more cost-effective.

“Before RSC Online, I would track rentals using a spreadsheet, which increased the risk of missing a rental," she explains. “There have been times when we had a piece of equipment in the field for a couple of months before realizing the rental had been overlooked. Now, with RSC Online, I'm able to keep the equipment rental status up-to-date, all from an easy-to-use website, to eliminate those types of errors.”

Among the features that Roberts uses are the Reserve Equipment function and Call Equipment Off-Rent option. Customers with contracts in effect can order equipment any time of day or night, 365 days a year. When it is time to call equipment off-rent, users can go online to schedule a pick-up or cancel an order without having to deal with telephone service representatives.

In addition, RSC Online offers a range of reporting features. Customers can proactively manage their POs and invoices, view account information in real time, including billing history, equipment on-rent, rentals year-to-date, and rentals by equipment type. Other pre-defined reports help customers manage and track accounts and equipment, or reports can be customized to suit specific needs. For example, customers can track expenditures by project.

“Customers really like having more control over their rental accounts and finances, and that's exactly what RSC Online provides them,” says Rich Gerhart, manager of the RSC Equipment Rental location in Westchester, W.V. “We've signed on several new accounts here based primarily on being able to offer them RSC Online,” Gerhart adds. “It's simply a great tool to have.”

“Now when canceling a piece of equipment, I simply type the purchase order number into the system, and it changes it into RSC records,” says Staley's Roberts. “That allows me to keep an updated invoice without having to search for it later. It alleviates a lot of wasted time and effort.”

To learn more about these and other features, go to www.rscrental.com. Note that users of RSC's older online systems, eFacts and Online Rental, can still log-in with their same user name and password, and their historical data remains intact.
