FM-approved explosion-proof manlift now available from Man & Material Lift Engineering
October 5, 2005 — Man & Material Lift Engineering, Cudahy, Wis., recently completed Factory Mutual (FM) testing of several of its machines per the UL "DY" standard, which specifies the requirements for diesel-powered aerial work platforms that will be operated in hazardous environments where explosive gases may be present. Significant developments include a water-cooled exhaust manifold to keep the exhaust stream below 350°F along with approved engine sensing and fuel shut-off controls.

This feature is currently available in the following telescopic boom lift models: 80-foot T80DY, 60-foot T60JDY, and 46-foot T46JDY. Typical uses for these units include aircraft and equipment painting, oil and gas locations, chemical processes, and fuel storage.
