December 26, 2005 • Lifting Gear Hire Corp., headquartered in Bridgeview, Ill., recently launched the Modulift 400/600 lifting beam system, a portable, lightweight system designed for one-man assembly with the ability to lift a capacity of 600 tons at 40 feet.

The unit consists of a range of spreader beams that offer a modular span capability. Spans are accommodated in 1- or 2-foot increments, with the longest span extending 76 feet at 197 tons.

“With the Modulift 400/600 in our rental fleet, we can now offer the modular lifting beam system ranging from 2 tons at an 8-inch span using the Modulift 2 spreader to 600 tons at a 40-foot span using the Modulift 400/600 spreader in increments of 1 to 2 feet, depending on which spreaders are used,” said Tony Fiscelli, general manager of Lifting Gear Hire.
