Lifting Gear Hire Corp. Expands Warehouse, Adds New Testing Equipment to Facility
February 15, 2006 • Lifting Gear Hire Corp. is tripling the size of its Houston warehouse, turning the space into a fully functioning rental and sales facility. The expanded building is planned to be 35,000 square feet in size with a 20,000-square-foot yard. A 350-ton horizontal pull test bed will be housed at the site, allowing for the testing of LGH rental gear and maintenance of customer equipment. The location will also include a 25-ton vertical hoist test stand. More than $1 million of equipment will be stocked and rented from this newly revamped warehouse. Prior to the expansion, the Houston facility only housed LGH's MaxiBar line.

“The demand for products in the LGH product line, as well as the MaxiBar product, has resulted in the need for a larger warehouse to store existing MaxiBar equipment and to stock a full range of LGH products and capacities,” explained Tony Fiscelli, general manager of Lifting Gear Hire Corp.'s U.S. headquarters in Bridgeview, Ill. “The expansion of the Houston facility will allow us to better serve our clients because we will simply have the space to feature our entire product range and to accommodate our customers' equipment service needs.”
The Houston warehouse will continue to be the main USA storage area for Lifting Gear Hire Modular Lifting Beams, including the new 600-ton capacity model. Three overhead crane bays will be installed to handle large MaxiBar / Modular Lifting Beams and other oversized equipment.
“We are excited about the expansion of the Houston facility and look forward to being able to better serve all of our clients from this centralized warehouse,” said Customer Service Manager David McKenzie. “The expansion and increased business volume will also create more jobs in the Houston area, so it is a beneficial endeavor all-around.”
