Liebherr USA, Co. has announced a significant investment in its spare parts distribution network with the establishment of a new warehouse in Kansas City. This strategic move is set to enhance Liebherr's customer service across the Midwest by improving the efficiency and speed of spare parts distribution for mobile and crawler cranes.
The new 12,000-square-foot facility currently stocks approximately 2,300 spare parts, with plans to expand to over 5,000 items once fully operational. This warehouse is one of four distribution centers across the United States, complementing the main warehouse located in Newport News, VA.
The project, which began in early 2024 with the installation of warehouse racking, saw its first order shipped out just a month later. Kansas City’s location is expected to significantly reduce downtime and provide quicker service for Liebherr machines used in local industries, including the prominent wind energy sector.
“This significant investment in the expansion of the spare parts distribution network shows Liebherr’s further commitment to providing the best service to our customers in the Midwest,” notes Arnold Burger, general manager of customer service, mobile and crawler cranes, Liebherr USA, Co.
The new warehouse supports Liebherr’s broader strategy of enhancing customer experience through its MyLiebherr portal. This online tool allows customers to view the availability and pricing of parts, order components, and track their status, all while accessing local service contacts and machine manuals.
