February 23, 2005—Premiering next month at ConExpo, the Liebherr LTM 1095-5.1 five-axle all-terrain crane, offered in North America by Liebherr Construction Equipment Co., Newport News, Va., features a 115-ton lifting capacity and a 190-foot telescopic boom. With a 23-foot telescopic boom extension and 62-foot double swingaway jib, the LTM 1095-5.1 can achieve a hook height of 269 feet and a lifting radius of 203 feet.

The swing-away jib can be set into mounting position by remote control, and it is operated at 0˚, 20˚, or 40˚ inclination. Optionally, the swing-away jib also can be varied continuously by hydraulic control and luffed under a full load. Liebherr's LICCON control system handles loads at any boom angle.

The LTM 1095-5.1 can travel with 33,100 pounds of counterweight within an axle load of 26,400 pounds and a total weight of 132,000 pounds. In this configuration, the crane offers the same advantages of a taxi crane. An additional 17,600-pound counterweight increases the load capacity, especially at a larger radius.

Powering the LTM 1095-5.1 is a six-cylinder, 503-hp Liebherr diesel engine in the carrier and a four-cylinder Liebherr diesel engine in the superstructure. Both engines comply with Tier 3 emission regulations.
