Kito Crosby has unveiled its new Crosby Straightpoint Self Indicating Dynamometer (SID), a modern alternative to outdated mechanical products. Designed for close proximity load monitoring, the SID boasts a 6.5-ton capacity and replaces the company's earlier Bluelink model.
Key features include a high-resolution 6-digit LCD screen, tare and preset tare functions and selectable measurement units (lbs, kg, kN, tonnes). The dynamometer also offers a 100Hz high-speed peak hold, an audible set-point alarm and an overload counter.
Constructed from high-grade aircraft aluminum, the SID is 30% lighter than competitors' models and features a safety factor of 6:1. Its compact design minimizes headroom loss to just 6.14 inches. The device provides up to 80 hours of continuous battery life and can connect to a hand-held readout device, supporting up to four dynamometers simultaneously.
Ideal for applications such as aircraft engine maintenance, gantry cranes and steel beam fabrication, the SID promises improved safety and efficiency in various lifting operations.
“This is a natural progression from the Bluelink, which is our popular entry-level wireless loadcell. Many applications are close-up and hands-on such as operating a lever hoist and the ability to view the load on the load cell while the operator is in close proximity is imperative in many applications. This entry-level dynamometer will allow more users to measure and know the load, furthering job site safety and productivity,” Peter Hird, commercial director for Crosby Straightpoint and Crosby BlokCam, said.
