Kito Crosby, a known manufacturer of lifting and securement solutions, has launched its 2024 Lifting for the Troops campaign, supporting the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. This organization provides college scholarships and educational services to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. On average, these students face a $25,000 shortfall in college funding after government support.
Kito Crosby aims to raise $75,000 this fall with the help of its channel partners and end users across the United States. From Sept. 1 through Oct.31, 2024, the company will donate $500 for every Crosby, Harrington, Acco and Peerless training event hosted in the U.S. Additionally, all proceeds from Crosby’s User’s Guide for Lifting online training course during this period will be donated to the foundation.
Company-sponsored and private donations are also welcome, with 100% of these funds going directly to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. The foundation estimates that $625 million is needed nationwide to cover the gap between government assistance and the actual cost of a college degree. Since 2002, Fallen Patriots has awarded nearly $66 million in scholarships to more than 3,400 students, including over 1,500 graduates.
Approximately 25,000 children have lost a parent in military service over the past 35 years. With 96% of these casualties being men, many single mothers are left struggling to provide for their families. The foundation’s work is crucial in helping these children receive the education they deserve.
Kito Crosby has trained more than 600,000 people across various industries since 1991, including oil and gas, construction, heavy lift, transportation, manufacturing, wind energy, entertainment and material handling. Participants in Crosby, Harrington, Acco or Peerless training events or the online course this fall will contribute to supporting these military families.
The company, with manufacturing facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Alabama and Minnesota, has a long history of supporting the military. More than 50 veterans work at Kito Crosby; designing, manufacturing and distributing top rigging hardware and material handling equipment.
“We are honored to partner with the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation again, for now the fifth year,” Melissa Ruths, Kito Crosby’s CMO, said. “Together, with our channel partners and end users, we are proud to support such an important cause and help raise enough this year to cover the cost of two college scholarships for young people who have been affected by military casualties.”
