JLG Earns Award from Government

September 12, 2005JLG Industries, Inc., McConnellsburg, Pa., was recently honored by the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) as one of the government's best suppliers at an Automated Best Value System (ABVS) award ceremony held at the Hyatt Regency Columbus in Columbus, Ohio in early September. JLG accepted the Supplier Excellence Silver Award from DSCC commander, Navy Rear Adm. Charlie Lilli. Of the 6,000 suppliers used by the DSCC, only 140 received an award.

"We are honored to receive this award recognizing JLG for excellence in on-time delivery and quality of replacement parts," said Craig Paylor, senior vice president of sales, marketing, and customer support. "We continually strive to bring value-added products and services to our customers, and this recognition means that we have met a customer's needs."

Companies that qualify as ABVS award winners have met the stringent quality and delivery requirements established by the Defense Logistics Agency. The Automated Best Value System is a computerized system that collects a vendor's past performance data and translates it into a numeric score, ranging from zero to 100. To be eligible, suppliers must have shipped 50 or more contract line items for DSCC during a 12-month rating period. To qualify for a silver medal, a contractor must have a score of 99 to 99.9 out of 100. DSCC, a field activity of the Defense Logistics Agency, manages more than six million orders annually and accounts for more than $2.8 billion in annual sales.
