Industry Expert Joel Francis Joins Alatas

April 10, 2021 - Joel K. Francis has joined crane parts and service provider Alatas Americas Inc. as senior business develop manager.

In that role, Francis oversees the business development group for Alatas Americas, and is based in Manvel, Texas, near Houston.

During his 15-year career in the heavy-equipment industry, Francis has developed extensive experience with crane-related electronics systems, technical support, sales, operations management, business development, and customer-focused support.

His work includes experience with LSI/Trimble, Rayco Wylie, and National Crane Compliance Inspections.

A U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran, Francis served multiple tours of duty worldwide, including in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Alatas was established in 1988 by a group of former Liebherr engineers and managers with a vision to deliver independent crane services. The company has grown to 14 global strategic centers that provide specialist crane maintenance, engineering, and parts to clients worldwide.

It serves cranes and heavy equipment of all kinds in a wide range of industries that includes construction, industrial maintenance, mining, ports, shipyards, offshore work, and merchant shipping.

Alatas supplies parts worldwide, and also rebuilds cranes and other lifting equipment. The company offers a complete hose program, and it also rebuilds and tests hydraulic pumps and cylinders. It also supplies LMIs, RCIs, camera systems, anemometers, and load cells.

Its other services include non-destructive testing, crane inspection, and crane assembly, and disassembly.
