Hirschmann's New Lift Safety System Undergoes Successful Field Trials

The LSS load moment indication system from Hirschmann Electronic Control Systems
October 5, 2005 — After developing its new Lift Safety System (LSS) efficient load moment indication system for aerial work platforms, Hirschmann Electronic Control Systems embarked on a series of field tests to demonstrate the product's usefulness. Since the beginning of the year, Mario Hessland has been responsible for sales and distribution of PAT systems, created specifically for aerial work platforms. He has had great success in garnering interest in the new LSS amongst manufacturers of aerial work platforms throughout Europe.

Based on these trials, clients have been impressed by the speed with which the LSS can be adapted to fit a wide variety of aerial work platforms. Adjustment of the angle sensors, and going through the full range of the lateral reach program can be accomplished in minutes.

Thanks to the configuration software, WinLSS, the operator can carry out all the necessary adjustments of the LSS with a click of the mouse. This also gives the customer the security of knowing that he can undertake the first steps in solving a problem without calling on any specialist support.

In the competitive aerial market, it's important for users to achieve the greatest possible lateral outreach and heights with a minimum size of platform. In this environment, it's critical to be able to create a switch off that is accurate to the centimeter and equally exact, time after time. Hirschmann has been able to demonstrate such advantages. As a result of these successful field trials, new prototypes of aerial work platforms will be developed to test the
LSS system in the harsh environment of clients' operations.
