The crane industry is full of stories about successful operations built by hard work from the ground up by founders armed with a dream and determination. One of them is High Caliber Cranes, LLC, a family-owned business based in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, that began as a one-bay, one-employee used crane dealership.
“In 2012, I started working as a technician for a local crane company,” related Brian Snyder, High Caliber’s founder and owner. “In 2020, I felt ready to go out on my own, so I rented a facility. My vision was to sell and service used cranes, and my goal was to grow by establishing a reputation as a business customers could trust.”
By 2022, High Caliber was on its way, maintaining, servicing and selling mobile cranes to a growing customer base and earning a trusted name in the used crane market. With decades of experience and a deep understanding of the construction industry’s needs, Snyder felt it was time for the
next step.
“After seeing XCMG cranes at the CONEXPO show, we were impressed by their advanced capabilities, such as auxiliary lifting and smart load chart functionalities, and a safer and more ergonomic operator’s environment,” Snyder explained. “Soon after, we partnered with XCMG to sell and service rough terrain cranes and boom trucks in the North American market.”
XCMG’s current crane lineup for the U.S. market includes boom trucks from 35 to 60 U.S. tons and rough terrain cranes from 60 to 130 U.S. tons. Plans also call for introducing crawler cranes and technologies like smart control systems and telematics.
This partnership allows North American customers to access XCMG’s innovative crane solutions and comes with the promise of High Caliber’s dedicated service and support. “We’re always available to help our customers with any technical needs that may occur after they purchase a crane from us,” Snyder stated. “With XCMG, we have a supplier who consistently provides us with comprehensive resources, training, after-sales service and parts support.”
XCMG saw several attributes in High Caliber Cranes that made them an ideal fit as a crane dealer, related Nathan Zhang, president of the XCMG American Research Center. “They have a proven track record for delivering exceptional service and a solid reputation in the industry for professionalism, reliability and commitment to customer satisfaction,” he said. “They also deeply understand their region’s crane market and customer needs.
“The dedication at High Caliber Cranes to putting customers first aligns perfectly with XCMG’s values and commitment to quality,” Zhang continued. “That makes them a natural partner for XCMG.”
XCMG is also focused on continually strengthening its support capabilities. “We’re actively working to improve our customer support system to offer more timely and effective assistance, reduce downtime and provide quicker resolutions to issues,” Zhang said.
“That includes increasing our inventory of genuine spare parts, offering more frequent and comprehensive training programs for operators and maintenance teams, and developing tailored preventive maintenance plans to ensure long-term performance,” Zhang added.
For Brian Snyder, those initiatives reflect XCMG’s commitment to High Caliber Cranes and meeting customers’ needs. “We prioritize customer satisfaction, and it shows in our many repeat customers,” he said. “XCMG’s support will be a key factor in our ability to continue growing our sales, rental, parts, and on-site, off-site and 24/7 service offerings.”
To demonstrate its commitment to customer satisfaction further, High Caliber Cranes is hosting a Customer Day on Oct. 24 at its Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, location. The event will feature live demonstrations of the latest XCMG models, giving customers an up-close look at the equipment’s capabilities and performance.
This event underscores High Caliber’s dedication to building solid and lasting customer relationships by offering hands-on experiences and exceptional support.
