Genie Names Regional Sales Manager

Scott Owyen

August 9, 2005 — After more than 20 years with the company, Scott Owyen has been promoted to regional sales manager at Genie Industries, Inc., Redmond, Wash. In this position, Owyen will oversee sales and customer support for all United Rentals branches in western Canada, Washington, Oregon, northern California, Idaho, and Reno, Nev.

Owyen brings to sales his extensive Genie expertise. He first joined Genie in 1983 as a production specialist and later moved into five different positions within the company, including shipping lead, production section manager, training manager, team leader for Genie University, and most recently, product manager. Before working at Genie, Owyen was a test mechanic at Boeing for three years. He currently holds certification as a training director from Langevin Learning, in which he acquired and refined key skills to manage high-performance and results-oriented training.
