Franna, the Australian manufacturer of pick and carry cranes, has launched its latest model in North America, the FR19 US.
Building on the success of its AT24 US model, the FR19 US is part of Franna’s expansion strategy, offering a compact high-performance lifting solution tailored to the region's needs.
“Following the strong performance of the AT24 US model, we are excited to introduce the FR19 US to the market,” Andreas Ernst, general manager of Terex Material Handling & Lifting Americas, said.
“This new model blends Franna’s trusted reliability with features tailored to the needs of North American customers, offering exceptional lifting capacity, efficient operation and the versatility required for challenging worksites.”
Key Features and Specifications
The FR19 US has a maximum lifting capacity of 19 U.S. tons at a 4-foot-11-inch radius and a 56-foot-3-inch maximum hook height.
It is powered by a 121-horsepower Tier 4 Final emission-compliant Cummins engine with a fully powershift transmission.
Its compact design allows for easy navigation through tight spaces, while the articulated steering system provides flexibility for precise maneuvering. Equipped with heavy-duty planetary drive axles and a high-strength U-section fabricated boom, the FR19 US is built for durability and longevity.
The crane features an ergonomically optimized cabin designed for safety and operator comfort.
Key benefits include easy access to maintenance points and a torque converter that eliminates the need for a clutch pedal, reducing fatigue during long shifts. A high-seated position and single lift cylinder improve visibility, enhancing safety and precision when handling loads.
Expansion of Service and Support
To support the FR19 US launch, Franna has established a dedicated service and support team based in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The team provides service, spare parts and technical assistance to customers across North America. Franna is also expanding its distribution network with authorized distributors and service centers positioned to offer after-sales support and ensure the timely availability of genuine Franna parts.
Jason MacKenzie, president of Select Cranes, which operates in New Jersey, Florida and Virginia, noted the growing interest in Franna’s models.
“We believe the Franna AT24 US offers distinct advantages over other pick and carry options in several applications. Since bringing one in for demonstration, we've received positive feedback from customers and are now considering a larger investment in the Franna product by expanding our rental fleet with additional units,” MacKenzie said.
Looking Ahead
Franna plans to further grow its North American lineup with the AT44 US, set to launch later in 2025.
“We are committed to expanding our product offering to meet the growing demands of customers across the United States,” Ernst said.
“We’re proud of our team’s hard work and excited to bring these innovations to market in the year ahead.”
The FR19 US will be showcased at live demonstrations throughout 2025, culminating in its display at the Utilities Expo from Oct. 7-9, where customers can experience its performance and safety features firsthand.
