DeFeo Resigns from United Rentals Board

June 21, 2005 — According to a recent report from United Rentals, Greenwich, Conn., Ronald M. DeFeo, chairman and CEO of Terex Corp., has resigned from the rental company's board of directors in an effort to avoid potential conflicts of interest. The United Rentals board now has 12 members — two-thirds of whom are classified as “independent” based on New York Stock Exchange criteria.
