Custom Lifts for Unique Applications

December 17, 2004—Lift-A-Loft Corp., Muncie, Ind., recently developed the following custom lifting solutions for customers with unique needs. A crane-mounted scissor lift features a 15-foot swiveling jib. And a material and personnel lift, Model SPW8-SPL, was developed so that two workers could load and unload heavy materials from an elevated position. With an ergonomic lift table located in the center of the unit, the workers can pull or load material without bending over. Pallets can then be loaded or unloaded with a forklift.

Other new custom lifts included a pit-mounted scissor lift designed to transport motorcycles from ground level to a mezzanine for storage, and a unit featuring an on-board vacuum system is designed for facilities with overhead cleaning requirements. The self-contained system operates from an AC inverter. The vacuum can be turned on from the platform and the appropriate tool plugged in to collect dust or other particles. The canister is located at the base in order to give the operator full capacity and plenty of room.
