Crane Topples New York City

July 2016 - Five people were injured when a lattice-boom crawler crane toppled from the new bridge under construction onto the existing Tappan Zee Bridge, blocking all lanes of the span for several hours. Two construction workers were hurt, and three motorists crashed trying to avoid the crane. None of the injuries was considered life-threatening. Damage was discovered on the Tappan Zee Bridge after the incident, according to Rockland County officials.
