Crane Accident: Terrace, B.C., Canada

March 25, 2014—A construction worker who was part of a crew building power transmission lines died after falling about 85 ft. to the ground from a crane-supported work basket at a work site about 30 miles north of Terrace, British Columbia, Canada.

The worker was tossed out of the basket when it hit a boom. A second worker in the basket was not hurt. There has been no word about whether the workers were wearing safety harnesses. The piece of equipment involved in the accident has been taken out of service until it is inspected.
