Crane Accident: Tampa Bay, Fla.
October 2012—One dockworker died and another was injured when a sling holding a bundle of steel pipes snapped as a crane was lifting the load off a docked ship. After the sling broke, the pipes crashed down onto four stevedores. One was killed, a second was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a hospital, and the other two were not hospitalized.
