Crane Accident: Smithville, Mo.

April 2012 – Six construction workers and a tug boat operator escaped serious injury when an overloaded crane capsized the barge they were on in Smithville Lake. The crane was setting a beam during bridge repair when the accident happened. The workers were all pulled from the water safely, though one was airlifted to an area hospital as a precaution. The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating. – www.fox4kc.com
