Crane Accident: Palm Beach, Fla.

March 4, 2014—A 40-ton truck crane struck and killed a pedestrian who fell under the chassis as the rig was driving on a city street. The crane driver apparently didn’t know he had hit someone and kept driving to a construction site. A witness said that the pedestrian was waiting to cross the street and somehow fell under the middle of the crane near its rear tires. The victim died at the scene. Police are investigating, but the crane driver has not been cited. – www.palmbeachdailynews
