Crane Accident: Ohio County, W.V.
July 2013—A rural two-lane road southeast of Wheeling, W.V., was shut down for four days after an all-terrain crane ran off the road, took out a guard rail, and rolled over several times before coming to rest on the wooded hillside below. The driver walked away unhurt, but recovering the crane required cutting away pieces of the damaged crane and bringing in two large cranes to lift the damaged four-axle AT back onto the highway. In addition, hazmat teams had to clean up spilled fuel and hydraulic fluid, and highway crews had to fix the guardrail and shoulder. – www.wtov9.com
